May Day memories remind us of the people and places that make Hawaiʻi special. Mid-Pacific Institute Kumu Hula Michael Lanakila Casupang and Pūpūkahi I Ke Alo o Nā Pua celebrated "May Day is Lei Day in Hawaiʻi," Sunday, May 1, at the Hawaii Theatre before a record-breaking audience of more than 1,100.
Just like a lei, this concert presented a string of flowers that tied together dance, music, theater, visual and digital arts, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Mid-Pacific School of the Arts.
