Mid-Pacific eighth graders held a bake sale this week to benefit Cookies for Kids' Cancer. Families and staff donated many hundreds of delicious baked goods to sell during Tuesday lunch. When the dust and crumbs settled, they collected more than $1300 from the sale!
"We outdid ourselves," says an enthusiastic Mrs. JoAnn Boncales, MS social studies teacher. "The Class of 2021... Good Cookies!"
Cookies for Kids' Cancer is a national organization with a goal of holding bake sales at the same time in all 50 states. This is the third year that Mid-Pacific has participated. The student effort was featured on the KITV 5 p.m. newscast on Tuesday.
"There was huge support from families donating goods and funds," said Ann Kondo, MS SGA coordinator. "A big thank you to class advisors for spearheading this project and putting us on the map!"
